Ceramic symphony wows audiences

Inspired by the enduring legacy of Vietnamese ceramics, the new GOm Show offers a unique cultural experience in the capital city.

The performance features an innovative concept in which the artists create a ‘feast of sound’ using two quintessential Vietnamese materials: ceramic and bamboo.

The pottery wheel becomes a storyteller, while ceramic instruments – jars, vases, gongs and bells – serve as narrators, conveying tales of the earth and humanity through a wordless language.

Performed by a talented group of young entertainers in simple attire on an unadorned stage, the eight interconnected acts move from playful, rustic rhythms to deeply soothing, almost healing soundscapes, occasionally accented by refined vocals that leave a lasting impression.

This one-of-a-kind Hanoi production can be combined with visits to nearby pottery villages such as Bat Trang or Phu Lang, creating a comprehensive and engaging programme for arts, crafts and culture enthusiasts.
