China removes COVID-19 testing requirement

China is to remove one of the last remaining COVID-19 rules for overseas visitors. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that arrivals no longer need to present a pre-departure negative nucleic acid or rapid antigen test for COVID-19, effective from August 30, 2023.

Visitors are still required to fill out the ‘Health Declaration Form for Entry/Exit of the People’s Republic of China’ using the WeChat mini-programme ‘Customs Pocket Declaration,’ the China Customs app, or through the website: https://htdecl.chinaport.gov.cn
