Mandarin Oriental acquires luxury resort
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced plans to take over management of the renowned Desaru Coast resort, currently operating as The Sireya, Desaru Coast.
The property will be officially rebranded as Mandarin Oriental, Desaru Coast in January 2026. Spanning an expansive 517,997 sq-m, the resort offers a tranquil retreat amid the untouched coastal beauty of Johor. Surrounded by lush greenery and fronted by a 1.5-km private beach, this retreat is perfect for reconnecting with nature.

The accommodation includes 42 standalone Junior Suites, each with sweeping views of either the rainforest or the ocean. Guests can choose from Rainforest, Ocean, or Ocean Front Junior Suites, all with generous indoor-outdoor living spaces and private plunge pools.
