New e-ticket system for kingdom’s marine parks

Starting 15 October 2025, visitors to six marine national parks in Southern Thailand will be required to purchase e-tickets before enjoying this region’s iconic natural wonders.

The new system, introduced by the Department of National Parks, aims to enhance conservation projects, support sustainable tourism and boost tourist safety. In the long term, officials aim to fund new initiatives to support communities living within forest zones.

Parks adopting the system include Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi, Ao Phang Nga, Than Bok Khorani, Mu Ko Similan, Mu Ko Surin and Mu Ko Lanta. Tickets can be purchased in advance or before 8 am on the day of the visit.

The announcement coincides with the annual closure of the Similan and Surin Islands, from 16 May to 14 October 2025, for marine rehabilitation. For more details or to arrange a visit, contact Asian Trails Thailand.
