Thailand Turns the Tide

Eco-friendly guests can now embark on an inspirational multi-day excursion in the southern Thai province of Ranong that plays a part in preserving the local marine environment.

Asian Trails’ new partnership with Swiss social enterprise #Tide enables guests to combine an enlightening tour with a rewarding ‘giving back’ activity that involves collecting waste from the Andaman Sea coastline.

The recovered plastic is recycled into everyday objects – from watches to furniture and automotive parts to apparel! The high-profile recipients include luxury watch brand Maurice Lacroix and fashion giants Tom Ford and Hugo Boss.

Additional to this environmental endeavour, guests enjoy a visit to Waree Ban Phot, a stunning Thai-Burmese style temple; a speedboat trip to Ko Chang to interact with resident indigenous groups; and a delicious seafood lunch caught by local fishermen. There is also time to swim and sunbathe.

This exceptional excursion blends discovery of one of Thailand’s lesser-visited provinces, with an altruistic action that benefits both local communities and mother nature.

Guests can depart the tour satisfied they have played an important part in preserving a marine environment for future generation’s enjoyment.

Asian Trails arranges tour programs to Ranong including #Tide activities. See our recommended two day itinerary: Southern Thailand Tribes and Tide
