The stars saving our seas

Asian Trails’ team in Indonesia continues to support marine conservation efforts in Bali through its ongoing collaboration with Bali Blue Harmony, an NGO dedicated to protecting the island’s fragile marine ecosystems.

For the third consecutive year, staff took part in hands-on coral restoration activities at Pantai Mengiat in Nusa Dua, a popular destination for Asian Trails guests seeking calm waters and coastal charm.

This year, 22 team members participated in the initiative, assisting in the installation and maintenance of reef stars, specialised structures designed to nurture coral growth and support reef regeneration.

With this intervention, the Asian Trails-designated section of the coral garden now comprises 10 reef stars, forming a thriving habitat that supports a diverse range of marine life.

Over the past three years, the team has observed coral at various stages of development and noted an increasing number of fish species adapting to the habitat. These findings underscore the positive, long-term impact of sustained conservation work.

As one of the first partners to support Bali Blue Harmony’s coral restoration programme, Asian Trails Indonesia is proud to be part of a growing community of organisations committed to safeguarding Bali’s marine environment for future generations.
