Travel with purpose in Siem Reap
Asian Trails’ tours go beyond traditional sightseeing, offering meaningful experiences that engage travellers while creating a positive impact on local communities. Our new full-day tour in Siem Reap delves into Khmer art and culture, with a focus on empowering local artisans and makers.
The day begins with a scenic bike ride through Kompheim village, where guests are warmly welcomed into a local family’s home for a hands-on culinary experience – preparing an authentic Khmer home-style meal while engaging in meaningful cultural exchange.
After lunch, the journey continues to the HUSK Community School, a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving access to education, housing and healthcare. Guests participate in an innovative bottle-building initiative, where plastic waste collected by the community is transformed into sustainable construction materials used for classrooms and other essential facilities.
Continuing to SATCHA, Cambodia’s first handicraft centre, guests observe artisans creating intricate handmade products before ending the day with dinner at Spoons Café, a social enterprise that offers hospitality training and employment opportunities to underprivileged youth.
