Visa-free travel arrangement for Russian travellers
Travellers from Russia can now benefit from visa-free travel to Myanmar under a new bilateral agreement between the two countries, effective from 27 January 2026. The arrangement allows holders of ordinary passports to travel between Myanmar and Russia without a visa for stays of up to 30 days.
The visa-free access applies to short-term visits for tourism and other non-remunerative purposes. It does not extend to travel for permanent residence, education, or employment.
