into life above and below the waves. Go on the search for the mighty Komodo
dragon and snorkel among tropical fish and vibrant coral gardens.
WHY THIS TOUR?
Wild adventures await in the Komodo National Park! As the home of the mighty Komodo dragon, this is your chance to spot the closest thing to a living dinosaur. These gigantic, scaly creatures grow to a length of three metres and can weigh up to 70 kgs, making them the largest living lizards in the world.
Aside from the Komodo dragon, the islands also boast breathtakingly beautiful landscapes with pristine beaches in many hues and colours. Off land, the surrounding translucent waters are home to one of the world’s richest marine environments where thousands of species of corals and tropical fish flourish. On this tour you will visit two of these enchanting islands: Padar and Rinca.

TRAIL ITINERARY
06:00 - 17:30
Wake early morning in preparation for an exciting day in search of the Komodo dragon. From the hotel, set off to the harbour and board a boat for a three-and-a-half-hour cruise to Padar Island. The unusually shaped island boasts a dreamy landscape with large crescent shaped bays and steep volcanic mountains that stretch out into the sea. The colours will astound you: mountains topped with lush green vegetation; beaches that dazzle in shades of white, rose and black; and turquoise waters teeming with tropical fish. A scenic trek will bring you to the highest point of the island. From here, you can soak up the mesmerising views of the surrounding islands, bays and beaches.
The boat will then take you to the famous Pink Beach. This startling stretch of sand gets its hues from red coral fragments that create a soft pink tint. There is time to relax and enjoy the rare beauty of the beach, or you can delve into the colourful underwater world with a snorkelling session.
Back on board, lunch will be served during the cruise over to Rinca Island. This island is one of the best places to see Komodo dragons in their natural habitat. A local ranger will escort you on a two-hour walk in search of wild buffalo, deer, pigs, tropical birds and of course the intriguing Komodo dragons. The hike takes you across various types of terrain including steep exposed slopes with far-reaching views and sun-soaked savannahs studded with lontar palms. You will pass by dragons’ nests and reach a permanent waterhole in Waewaso, frequented by these magnificent beasts. All the while, keep your cameras ready for sightings of the large lizards and other animals.
At the end of an exhilarating trek, the boat will cruise back to Labuan Bajo and you will be transferred back to the hotel.
