Mui Ne’s White Lake by Military Jeeps

Mui Ne’s White Lake
by Military Jeeps

Natural magnificence of an indescribable beauty emerges outside Mui Ne. Destined to leave guests
in awe, the White Lake district is an enticing region filled with birdlife, flowers, and
local life. Add jeeps to the equation and tour perfection awaits.

WHY THIS TOUR?

The White Sand Dunes just outside of Mui Ne are one of Vietnam’s charming geological oddities, which have long been a creative subject of artistic photographs and paintings. Bach Ho or Bau Sen (Lotus Pool) are some of the other names of White Lake, surrounded by natural freshwater, pristine white sand-dunes and low forests.

From a distance, Bau Trang appears as a mysterious landscape painting. Thanks to the combination of blooming lotuses, blue water, mallards, and various birds of prey that quietly live off what the lake provides, it truly is a magical place for a morning outing.

TRAIL ITINERARY

Mui Ne’s White Lake by Military Jeeps

07:30 - 11:30

We start our journey to White Lake in the early morning from your hotel in Phan Thiet. On the way, we will stop at the Mui Ne Wharf. Located at the end of Mui Ne Bay, a good 7 km away from the downtown, Mui Ne fishing village is an example of how the traditional fishing industry has retained its charm and authenticity. From a strategic vantage point behind the bay, visitors can see dozens of colourful vessels moored in front of the mainland, ready to set out sail for finding the catch-of-the-day. The local market nearby where buyers and sellers meet on local trading grounds.

Beautifully restored army jeeps are our adventurous means of transportation to get up to White Lake via the coast from Hon Rom. Mui Ne’s White Lake may refer to a single lake but are two lakes located right next to each other. Known for its lotus flowers, situated right in the well-known White Dunes area outside Phan Thiet, the calm waters is the only fresh water for the people residing in the Hong Lam district. These lakes are not only local fishing grounds for locals but are also seen as a popular area for relaxation after exploring the Mui Ne dunes. The largest lake of the two bodies of water is called Lotus Lake (Bau Ong) with the smaller, yet as charming as the main lake, Bau Ba Lake contains more water as it is on average deeper. This is the best place to listen to the whisper of reaching waves, feel the cool blowing breeze and gaze at the romantic slopes of the never-ending white hills.

En route back to Phan Thiet, the Fairy Stream (Suoi Tien) is a natural phenomenon that comes with its own story. A little river that winds its way through bamboo forests, boulders and the dunes behind the village, and in parts resembles a miniature version of the Grand Canyon. Take a look at these red sand dunes, and there will be plenty of time to take photographs while your feet wade in the clear water.
