The Pudong Side of Thriving Shanghai

The Pudong Side of
Thriving Shanghai

The importance of Shanghai’s Pudong district has exponentially grown over the past years and
has put China’s largest city on the world map. This half-day tour brings out the finest
of The East Bank of Shanghai – from wonderful views to a relaxing cruise.

WHY THIS TOUR?

Separated by the constant flow of the Huangpu River, Shanghai’s Pudong districted is swathed with landmarks to tailor for a wonderful touring experience. Located on the east side of this waterway, Pudong has appropriately gained the name of ‘The East Bank’ where historical remnants are entwined with the forward-thinking of modern China.

The development of the towering skyline of Pudong can be best observed from The Bund, where the city capitalizes on in terms of panoramic vistas; it is here where Pudong claims the first price above the Puxi district on the western side. This 4-hour tour is an acclamation that Pudong has its character, and we will show you why.

TRAIL ITINERARY

The Pudong Side of Thriving Shanghai

08:00 - 12:00

Your guide and driver for this half-day exploration will be waiting for you at your hotel lobby in Shanghai (conditions may apply) before heading over to the Pudong side of Shanghai. This tour is an excellent example of how modern progress mushroomed into one of the leading financial cities in the world in a short time. It is a gleaming collection of skyscrapers, entertainment and accommodation venues, shopping complexes, all merged perfectly with the banks of the gently flowing aorta of Shanghai is setting the tone for this tour.

What would a visit to Pudong be without speeding up to the 100th floor of the Shanghai World Financial Centre (SWFC), considered one of the tallest skyscrapers in the world and home to some breathtaking views over this metropolis. The eclectic mix of old versus shiny new comes into the picture from the observation deck, as your guide will explain all there is to see.

As fast as you went up the SWFC, the elevator ride down to the ground floor signals that we move further into our Pudong exploration and what better way to see this booming side of Shanghai as during a cruise over the Huangpu River. Accompanied by your guide, a short cruise over the aquatic aorta of Shanghai brings some downtempo in your exploration. Unobstructed views of its characteristic construction marvels, seeing residents and visitors strolling across The Bund, and gaining a deeper inside on how Shanghai has evolved from a remnant of former foreign concessions in China to a powerhouse in the financial industry, are merely a few of the examples you will be presented.

It is, unfortunately, time to head back to your hotel after touring this happening side of Shanghai. The transfer back to your hotel is included in this insight in the Pudong side of this thriving mega city.
