TRAIL ITINERARY
06:00 - 13:00
The foodie-guide and driver will meet you at the hotel and take you to Ubud. Start with a stroll around a traditional market to see the type of produce and goods on offer. Locals flock here to buy and sell fruits, meat, spices and cooked snacks. It’s an explosion of colours, smells and flavours and a great place to drink in the local culture. Sample some of the food on sale, such as traditional cakes. The guide will explain about the various food items and how they are used in everyday cooking.
Enjoy a morning coffee and some traditional Balinese satay. Satay, or sate in Indonesian, are grilled slices of meat skewered on sticks. You can find them in virtually every town in Bali, but each region has a unique take and variation.
There will be a break to enjoy some fresh coconut with beautiful views of Bali, before sitting down to enjoy a signature Balinese brunch.
During the tour, you will get the opportunity to try seven authentic dishes such as Balinese pancakes, satay, a vegetable dish called tipat cantok, and chicken betutu stuffed with exotic spices. You will also get the opportunity to try the famous babi guling – suckling pig. This delicious treat is often served during cultural performances or ceremonies. While the fresh pork contributes to the juiciness, the mix of traditional spices plays an important role in making babi guling an unforgettable dish.
At the end of the tour, the driver will take you back to the hotel.
