Project Manager | Thailand
About the role

The role of the Project Manager is to be responsible for initiating, designing, planning, executing and monitoring the progress and completion of projects. The Project Manager will first and foremost deliver projects to the expected level of quality and within agreed and committed timelines, along with supporting and motivating team members, whilst managing the expectations of all relevant key stakeholders and communicating the progress and status of the project working towards achieving committed milestones. He/she will build a comprehensive project plan creating and ensuring visibility across the entire project portfolio.

Projects are generally aimed at improving internal processes and contribute to the overall business development. The Project Manager reports into the Deputy Managing Director for projects related to Thailand and to the Group Managing Director for eCommerce related projects.

Responsibilities
  • Implement a high-level and effective project management framework and project execution statement;
  • Provide guidance and advice to staff members in relation to the project execution plan, review content and take ultimate responsibility for content prior to issuing the projects;
  • Monitor and oversee progress status and updates on the project and, where necessary, liaise with project stakeholders to lead delay mitigation strategies and improvement initiatives;
  • Define and implement criteria for control and management of the projects;
  • Establish formal reporting arrangements on project progress for all stakeholders, agents and management;
  • Manage relationships between all project stakeholders to facilitate effective communications and outcomes;
  • Identify and communicate potential business development opportunities to the company;
  • Create training and quality management roles in accordance with the company’s structure;
  • Report to the executive management on a regular basis.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in tourism; a university degree is preferred;
  • Previous experience in a project management position in the tourism industry is a prerequisite;
  • Fluent command of verbal and written English is essential; other languages are a plus;
  • Working experience in the travel & tourism industry in Thailand is a must;
  • Good command of Microsoft Office applications and excellent computing skills;
  • Have capability in developing standards, quality management, coordination and coaching techniques;
  • Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work flexible hours during peak season;
  • A “Can Do” attitude, positive mindset and creative thinking;
  • A strong sense of responsibility and ability to prioritise and organise are preferred skill sets to fill this role;
  • This position is available for Thai nationals only.
