Experience Hanoi’s rich tea tradition
During the summer months, as lotus flowers bloom across Hanoi’s West Lake, a centuries-old ritual comes to life.
This is the season for one of the city’s most cherished traditions – the making of Trà Sen Tây Hồ or West Lake Lotus Tea. This practice involves delicately infusing green tea with the natural fragrance of lotus blossoms, creating a beverage celebrated for its subtle aroma and refined elegance.
From June to mid-August, guests are invited to join an immersive Lotus Tea Workshop led by a seasoned tea master. The experience begins with a calming tea meditation ceremony, followed by an introduction to the history of Vietnamese tea culture and the background behind this seasonal ritual. Participants will taste lotus-infused Snow Shan spring tea, craft their own fresh lotus tea gift and savour traditional sweets in a tranquil teahouse setting.
To participate, contact Asian Trails Vietnam before the tea-making season ends. Private workshops are available for a minimum of 10 guests.
