Temporary closure of Central Highlands airport

Lien Khuong International Airport, which serves Da Lat in Vietnam’s Central Highlands, will be temporarily closed from 4 March to 25 August 2026 for essential runway and taxiway upgrades.

During this period, all flight operations will be suspended. For programmes operating to Da Lat and the Central Highlands between March and August 2026, Asian Trails will arrange alternative routing via Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Cam Ranh International Airport or other suitable gateways to ensure minimal disruption.

The works form part of the airport’s long-term development plan, targeting 4E classification by 2030 with expanded capacity of five million passengers and 20,000 tonnes of cargo annually, rising to seven million passengers and 30,000 tonnes, respectively by 2050.

The existing T1 terminal, which currently serves two million passengers annually, will be retained, while a new T2 terminal, targeting three million passengers annually, will be developed and subsequently expanded in line with projected growth.

This expansion represents another significant step in enhancing regional connectivity at Lien Khuong International Airport, which became the first designated international airport in Vietnam’s Central Highlands in June 2024.
