Pedalling for a purpose
Demonstrating our ongoing commitment to responsible travel and community engagement, Asian Trails staff from our Ho Chi Minh City office in Vietnam took part in a community bike ride on 27 July 2025.
The event was organised by Mekong Plus, a social enterprise dedicated to supporting rural development in Vietnam and Cambodia. Set against the peaceful green canals of An Phu Dong, the event, dubbed the ‘Bamboo Ride’, saw participants ride bamboo bikes made by local artisans along a scenic route around the city.
Proceeds went toward financing scholarships for underprivileged children in the Mekong Delta. In total, the funds raised from this single event will support 11 children in continuing their education. This was only the second ride organised by Mekong Plus, with plans to make it a regular Sunday event.
Asian Trails is proud to support this NGO’s mission to build stronger, self-sufficient rural communities through education and sustainable livelihoods. This small but meaningful contribution reflects our responsible travel values and our team’s hands-on commitment to making tourism a force for good.
