Asian Trails’ sustainable approach to Iftar
Asian Trails’ Malaysia team came together for an Iftar event with a difference.
Marking the evening meal that breaks the daily fast during the month-long Ramadan, the gathering embraced reflection, gratitude and community.
This year’s gathering placed sustainability and responsible event planning at its core. In line with the company’s sustainability objectives, careful effort was made to minimise food waste while preserving the spirit of the occasion.

The chosen venue, the Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur Midtown, was selected for its strong environmental practices. The hotel partners with Kechara Soup Kitchen to redistribute safe, surplus food to communities in need. It also operates an innovative food waste-to-water system, transforming waste into water within 24 hours.
These initiatives allowed the team to enjoy a buffet-style Iftar in a way that was both environmentally conscious and socially responsible.
