Uncovering Saigon’s secret heritage
On a recent outing, the Asian Trails Vietnam team, led by Managing Director Bui Viet Thuy Tien, explored new corners of Ho Chi Minh City and uncovered fascinating stories from the city’s dynamic past.
The group experienced ‘Hidden Heritage of Saigon’, a newly launched trail designed to immerse visitors in rich history and culture. Team members from the Inbound, Operations and Product departments, together with local guides, joined the journey, gaining fresh insights into this vibrant metropolis.

The day began at a cafe tucked inside an old apartment building, where the group enjoyed a distinctive coffee ritual reflecting the city’s inventive spirit. From there, they stepped into a private vintage Citroen garage – a nostalgic space that captures a bygone era.
Winding through the narrow streets of Chinatown, the team paused at a local wet market and sampled a classic bánh mì before heading to a traditional medicine shop, where each received a personal pulse diagnosis – a centuries-old Chinese practice used to assess an individual’s vital energy, or qi.

A visit to a local home offered another layer of insight. The traditional feng shui design, unique architectural details and stories shared by the hosts revealed how cultural traditions continue to shape daily life in the city.
This highly recommended excursion offers a meaningful way to reconnect with authentic charm. For more details and inquiries, please contact Asian Trails Vietnam
