First-ever Culture Day celebration

Vietnam is preparing for the inaugural Vietnam Culture Day on 24 November 2026 with a celebration of the nation’s spirit of innovation.

This year’s event will shine a spotlight on sustainability and how technology is reshaping the cultural sector. It will explore practical ways to make cultural activities more environmentally responsible, while also highlighting how new technologies are opening up fresh opportunities for creativity, collaboration and reaching wider audiences.

By making culture a foundation for long-term growth, these initiatives aim to protect the past while shaping the future. Important historical sites, intangible customs and treasured works of art will be digitally preserved so they can be enjoyed by future generations.

Plans also include expanding digital cultural programmes – such as open-access museums, mobile theatres and online libraries – alongside investment in heritage cities to support a thriving ‘heritage economy.’

The launch of Vietnam Culture Day is set to elevate the country’s cultural profile, deepen connections with creative communities and inspire people to experience Vietnam’s rich assets in new and dynamic ways.
