Visa-free policy extended for a year
China has prolonged its unilateral 30-day visa-free entry policy for citizens of 45 countries for another year, until 31 December 2026.
In addition, Sweden will join the list of visa-exempt countries starting 10 November 2025. This extension underscores China’s ongoing commitment to high-level opening-up and the facilitation of international travel.

The eligible countries under the extended policy include: Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Oman, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden (from 10 November 2025), Switzerland, The Netherlands and Uruguay.
Citizens of these countries may enter China without a visa for up to 30 days, for purposes including business, tourism, visiting family and friends, cultural exchanges or transit.
