WHY THIS TOUR?

Cycle through the heartland of Bali and witness firsthand a way of life that has not changed for centuries. Pedal alongside rice paddies, past picturesque farmland and along unmarked roads that lead to quaint rural villages. Find out about ancient traditions and vibrant customs that are very much alive in these unspoiled hamlets.

Spend some time chatting with locals, many of whom still live in traditional Balinese family compounds. These walled enclosures are home to many generations of the same family. The design follows traditional Balinese architecture and features a breezy, outdoor living area, family temple and intricately decorated doorways and main gate. They offer a fascinating glimpse into the weaving together of social requirements, family status, religion and architecture.

TRAIL ITINERARY

Authentic Villages, Shrines and Homes by Bicycle

07:00 - 14:00

Today we take to two-wheels for a cycling adventure across a sublime countryside of picturesque villages, sprawling farmland and lush rice paddies. We will pick you up from your hotel in the South Bali/Ubud area and take you to the village of Sangeh where we have a safety briefing and prepare our bikes for the journey.

We make stops en route, with the first at a traditional Balinese compound. We continue through Carangsari village and head to Pura Dalem Temple for a short visit. The guide will impart his knowledge about this shrine, as well as other points of interest along the way.

We then continue to Gerana and Taman Villages which are home to beautiful, verdant rice fields. After about 16 km cycling, we end the trip at Taman Mumbul where you will spend some time feeding the fish and enjoying some relaxation time, ahead of the return to the hotel. Refreshments and lunch are provided on this trip.
