Assistant Bank Controller | Thailand
About the role
The Assistant Bank Controller assists in coordinating, administering and processing accounting and financial reporting activities with the bank. The successful candidate will perform day-to-day activities involving the banks and general accounting systems, including calculating, posting and verifying duties to obtain and record financial data for use in maintaining internal and external financial reporting and statistical records by performing the following duties. This position works with the Bank Controller in developing policies, procedures and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Bank Controller in maintaining internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, team and organisational budgets and actual expenditures;
- Assist the Bank Controller in establishing (in coordination with the Head of Finance) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, programme monitoring and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly and annual basis;
- Assist the Bank Controller in implementing consistent accounting policies, practices and procedures across all programmes, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation;
- Ensure accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines;
- Reconcile accounts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field;
- 2-3 years’ work experience in accounting;
- Good communication skills in English (oral and written) will be advantageous;
- General knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations;
- Timely month-end closing and submission of reports;
- Analytical skills with good communication skills;
- Ability to work as part of a team;
- Honest and reliable.
