French Market Officer | Indonesia
About the role

This important role within the Inbound Department at Asian Trails Indonesia takes care of the complete reservation process. This includes receiving requests from travel agents abroad (mainly French-speaking clients), preparing offers and quotations, timely follow-up, and booking of all services, hotels and suppliers throughout Indonesia. This role is also responsible for issuing vouchers to hotels and other suppliers and is also involved in the invoicing and payment collection process. Based in Bali, you will be joining a dynamic and passionate team of travel professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate with overseas travel agencies and tour operators;
  • Prepare itineraries and quotations;
  • Understand the range of sustainable products available and encourage clients to include relevant ones within their programmes;
  • Invite agents to take part in our Refillable Water Bottle and Carbon Offsetting initiatives;
  • Send reservation requests to hotels and land service providers throughout Indonesia;
  • Follow up on sent-over programmes;
  • Ensure that all relevant data is uploaded to Asian Trails’ administration system;
  • Coordinate with the Operations Department for booking land services;
  • Handle reservations between suppliers and hotel representatives;
  • Follow up on payments from customers;
  • General administration tasks as outlined by the Inbound Manager;
  • Work closely with colleagues from other departments and offices within the Asian Trails Group;
  • Reservation and contracting activities with suppliers and hoteliers;
  • Out-of-office meetings with customers to handle events, special requests, and other tasks as outlined (when required).
Qualifications
  • Indonesian national;
  • Bachelor’s degree in the hospitality industry;
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a travel and tourism company;
  • Good command of English (both verbal and in written) is essential; ability to speak, write and understand French is seen as an advantage;
  • Experience with FIT/individual travel and GIT/series bookings is a prerequisite;
  • Experience with Destination Management software is an advantage;
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office (World, Excel, Outlook) applications and computing skills;
  • Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work flexible hours during peak season;
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team;
  • A “Can Do” attitude, positive mindset and creative thinking is an asset.
