Crafts and farming in Khao Yai
Travel about two-and-a-half to three hours out of Bangkok to engage in eco-friendly initiatives that give back to local communities. Visit Pak Chong district, on the edge of Khao Yai National Park and learn how to make a herbal compress or get involved in mushroom farming. These activities are ideal for groups of up to 120 people.
Make a herbal compress: Utilise unused ingredients from the community’s kitchens to make herbal compress balls. Work alongside locals to combine various herbs and learn how to produce the therapeutic massage aides which are then distributed to public health centres and local massage shops.
Visit a mushroom house: Get a hands-on experience learning about the ecological importance of fungi, from mushroom cultivation to sustainable farming and waste management. By collaborating with community members and educational institutions, the initiative provides training and job opportunities for community residents. Mushroom cubes are distributed to local schools, providing a valuable source of nutrition for the children.
