Khmer dinner and dance in Siem Reap

With its original wooden exterior, traditional décor and marquee lights, the semi-colonial style Apsara Theatre creates the perfect backdrop for a dinner and show in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The old-world, 100-seat theatre transports guests into another place and time where skilled dancers, singers and musicians bring to life the art and culture of the ancient Khmer world.

Set in Siem Reap’s oldest theatre, this colourful cultural experience contributes to the revival of traditional Khmer dance which has a history dating back several centuries. Today, the troupe of over 30 performers recreates scenes from folk tales and legends that have been passed down through generations of Cambodians.

An authentic Khmer meal is served every evening at 7.30pm and the one-hour performance starts at 8.30pm. Each guest receives a souvenir booklet that explains the story of each dance and the hidden meaning behind each delicate movement and hand gesture.
