5 Days Wellness in Siem Reap

This five-day programme in Siem Reap offers a rich blend of cultural discovery and wellness experiences. Highlights include a sunrise visit to Angkor Wat, guided temple tours and cycling through rural villages. Along the way, guests will receive a Buddhist blessing and learn about the local cuisine in a hands-on cooking class. The programme also includes yoga sessions and a chance to meet local monks, with time for rejuvenating spa treatments and exploring local markets.

Itinerary

Relax into life in Siem Reap, gateway to the spiritual temples of Angkor. Upon arrival at Siem Reap International Airport, we will be treated to warm Cambodian hospitality by our local English-speaking guide and drive to our hotel for check-in. We will be greeted with a welcome drink, with the rest of the day at out leisure to start exploring the compact city’s wealth of attractions. Pick up souvenirs at Old Market, take a stroll along Siem Reap River or indulge in a massage at one of the spas. Alternatively, relax and make use of the hotel’s facilities. Dinner is also at our leisure, with Siem Reap home to a wide range of eateries. Our guide can recommend a few top spots if needed. Please note: The official check-in time is 2 pm. Early check-in is subject to availability and additional charges.

Today serves up temple-hopping adventures, meeting monks and an award-winning circus show. We rise early to take a tuk tuk to Angkor Wat Archaeological Park and start the day with a special sunrise at Angkor Wat. The stunning 12th century temple complex once stood as the capital of the mighty Angkor Empire. It is home to extraordinary bas-reliefs with carvings detailing ancient Khmer epics. After breakfast, we continue our temple-hopping trip at the South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon, Baphuon, Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephants Terrace, and the Terrace of the Leper King. We the return to the city for lunch at local restaurant, with the afternoon at our leisure. In the late-afternoon, there is the chance to meet a Buddhist monk and learn about the religion over a hot tea at a pagoda before we enjoy dinner at local restaurant. End the day by a jaw-dropping performance from Phare, the Cambodian Circus.

Delve deeper into Cambodian life with a day of cooking and cycling through the countryside. After breakfast, we drive to Wat La Ook to jump on our bikes for a half-day ride through rural Siem Reap (15 km/ 1.5 hours). We cycle alongside lush paddies, grazing buffalo and small villages as we make our way to Roluos Market. Here, we can watch locals buying their daily fruit, vegetables, meat and other goods. Before returning to Siem Reap, we will have the unique opportunity to receive of a Buddhist blessing from a monk, believed to ward off evil spirits and bring good luck. After lunch at our leisure, we head to an organic restaurant which is located just 3km northeast of centre to learn how to cook like a local during a cooking class. First, we visit the local market with the chef to learn about the variety of tropical fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices that feature in local dishes. We will pick our ingredients before returning to the restaurant to cook a range of local dishes. We will feast on the fruits of our labour before returning to the hotel to relax.

What better way to start the day than an invigorating yoga session. After breakfast, join a shared one hour-plus Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yoga Flow, Hatha Flow or Restorative Yoga class. The rest of the morning is then at our leisure until lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon, we continue temple-hopping at remote Banteay Srei. The fabled pink temple of women is named after its pink sandstone and considered a tribute to the beauty of women. Its walls are adorned with intricate Apsara carvings. We then continue to Ta Prohm. The root-riddled temple complex is evocative of scenes out of Indiana Jones and featured as the backdrop in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. We then round out the day at Pre Rup temple – the perfect place to watch the sun sink into the horizon. Dinner is at our leisure.

All good things must come to an end and today sees our five-day wellness journey come to a close. After breakfast at the hotel, there may be some free time before our onward flight to indulge in a pamper session at the spa. Alternatively, we can relax at the resort and enjoy the facilities, or head into town and snap up some last-minute souvenirs before we head to the airport for our onward flight feeling. After five days of exploring some of Cambodia’s most spiritual and sacred spots, enjoying soothing yoga sessions and meeting monks to learn about their lives, we are guaranteed to leave for our next destination feeling fully relaxed and rejuvenated.

Please note: No guide and no vehicle is available until the airport departure. The official check-out time at the hotel is 12 pm.

  • Please ensure that you bring sunglasses, a hat /cap and sunblock with a high SPF factor when traveling with us. Even when it is cloudy, the sun still has an immense power;
  • All mentioned times, durations and stops are based on approximations and may change due to unforeseen circumstances, weather and traffic conditions beyond our control.
  • Tours and transfers with licenced English-speaking guiding services / assistance. Other languages are on request and are subject to availability;
  • Accommodation in sharing twin / double room;
  • Transportation for tour and transfers by air-conditioned vehicle, unless otherwise stated;
  • All entrance fees for visits as mentioned in the programme (3 days Angkor Pass);
  • GTS (Group Tour System) for 2 days during temple tour from 10pax up;
  • All meals as indicated in the programme (food only).
