golf course at the Sofitel-managed Phokeethra Country Club. With caddy

WHY THIS TOUR?
The majority of travellers to Siem Reap come to explore the ancient temples of Angkor. A great way to relax after several days of temple exploration is with a round of golf under the sun on an international-standard golf course. With the sport being available all-year round due to the warm climate, golfing in Cambodia is emerging as a popular pastime.
The Sofitel-managed Phokeethra Country Club is Cambodia’s debut international-quality course, offering the best of modern golfing, while retaining the refined ambiance of an exclusive country club. Nestled in the countryside, this world-class facility has been host to a number of international tournaments.

TRAIL ITINERARY
08:00 - 12:00
The driver will collect you from the hotel and take you to the Phokeethra Country Club, located about 30 km out of temple town. On arrival, you will meet your experienced local caddy, climb into the golf cart and get ready to tee off. With its sweeping fairways, fast greens and intriguing design, this 18-hole, par 72 course offers a unique and challenging golfing experience.
The course opened in 2007 and has hosted several international events, including the Johnnie Walker Classic in 2009 and the Cambodian Open in 2010. With a recent remodel courtesy of renowned course architect Major General Weerayudth Phetbuasak, the golf course has become more popular than ever before.
As a championship calibre course, the layout features an array of natural lagoons and sand traps to challenge players of all abilities. The course is a mix of tricky par 3s and individual par 4s and 5s, which require both long drives and solid direction. There are also water bodies on all but one hole, and the 18th hole features a signature double water carry — a daunting final shot onto an island green.
After finishing the 18 holes — and hopefully still dry considering the amount of water, the driver will take you back to the hotel.
