Full Day Klias Mangrove Wildlife & Fireflies
Cruise through the mangrove forests of the Klias River in search of the proboscis monkey and other exotic wildlife. We are collected from our hotel between 2 pm and 2.30 pm to transfer overland to the Klias Forest Reserve travelling on scenic coastal roads and past picturesque villages taking about two hours. Upon arrival at Klias River Village Jetty we refresh with coffee, tea, Malay cakes and biscuits before boarding our river cruise in search of wildlife such as the proboscis monkey, abundant bird species, monitor lizards, crocodiles and other wildlife. We return to the jetty for a traditional Malay buffet dinner and as dusk sets, we reconvene our short river cruise to observe the flickering fireflies lighting up the riverbanks. In the evening, we transfer back to Kota Kinabalu.
Route
- Duration: 7 hours, with departure at 2 pm;
- Surcharge may apply if pick up point is outside of city centre;
- This is a nature-based tour. Therefore, the weather elements will always be considered for the comfort and safety of all guests. In the event of adverse weather, we reserve the right to cancel or postpone the trip. The company will not be liable for any compensation;
- Boat cruises are on sharing basis;
- Recommended personal gear: Outdoor wear with long pants and long sleeves, hat, sneakers, camera, binoculars, disposal raincoat and insect repellent;
- This trail programme is operated daily on private basis with English-speaking guide;
- Cancellation policy: 100% penalty charge for cancellation received within 3 days or less prior to service date & no-show;
- Seat-in-coach tours are operated daily with English-speaking guide with minimum group size of 2 pax unless stated otherwise; children are 3 to 12 years old; additional surcharge applies to pick-up from outskirts areas (Rasa Ria / Nexus / Beringgis).
