Day-to-Day Itinerary
Soak up the beauty of the Kiulu Valley and learn more about local customs at the Fig Tree. In the morning, we transfer to this ecotourism project, stopping on the way at the Tamparuli Suspension Bridge, a nearby local market and to admire the scenic view of the Kiulu Valley. We are greeted with a warm welcome at the Fig Tree in Kampung Mantob and are briefed on the programme of the day by our local guide. We then try our hand at some cultural activities such as traditional rice processing, blow piping, rice planting and rubber tapping before enjoying a traditional lunch. In the afternoon, we embark on a leisurely village walk through stunning landscapes as we pass the local school, alongside lush paddy fields and a hanging bridge before returning to the Fig Tree. If time and weather permits, we can take a dip in the cooling Kiulu River. After dinner, we have the chance to chat with locals to learn more about the village history and listen to folktales before bed.
Overnight at homestay.
After breakfast at the homestay, we continue our journey as we transfer to Kota Kinabalu.
