New UNESCO Global Geopark honour
Lang Son’s spectacular landscapes have earned it global recognition with its recent designation as a UNESCO Global Geopark.
Celebrated for its exceptional geological significance, rich cultural heritage and natural beauty, this region joins a network of 229 geoparks across 50 countries. Located in Vietnam’s far north-east, this mountainous border province boasts dramatic limestone karsts, remote caves and beautiful highland scenery.
Positioned at a historic crossroads between Vietnam and China, travellers encounter colourful hill tribe markets, ancient temples, sweeping mountain views and the friendly hospitality of the ethnic people.
Lang Son is Vietnam’s fourth UNESCO Global Geopark, following Dong Van in 2010, Cao Bang in 2018 and Dak Nong in 2020. Contact Asian Trails Vietnam to plan a tailor-made journey to the region.
