Vietnam’s Halong Bay from above

Over 2,000 islands and abundant limestone karsts, cliffs and hidden coves lie within the protected zone of Vietnam’s Halong Bay.

There is no better way to view this spectacular UNESCO-listed site spread over an area of 2,000 sq-km than from an elevated position. With this in mind, Asian Trails’ Vietnam office has created various exploratory options using a Cessna Grand Caravan 208B-EX Amphibian plane that can take-off and land on water. Twelve passengers can take to the skies, with excellent views from each seat. From the air, the islands appear as mountain ranges and resemble the undulating body of a dragon, the meaning of ‘Halong’ in Vietnamese.

This trip has the added convenience of passengers being able to transfer from cruise ships directly to waiting floating aircraft at Tuan Chau Marina.
