A Day with Balinese
Experience a warm Balinese welcome at a typical village compound, where time-honoured activities and crafts remain part of daily life. Enjoy tea, coffee and typical Balinese cakes while exploring the compound and observing local crafts, including blacksmithing, Balinese hat making, the production of local wine known as tuak, pandanus-leaf mat weaving, and flower and fruit arrangements. These crafts and customs have been passed down through generations and remain an important part of Balinese life.
Learn how coconut oil is traditionally made, then try climbing a coconut tree to collect fresh coconuts for a refreshing drink. Take part in rice cultivation using age-old farming tools and experience the process of planting rice first-hand. The experience concludes with lunch served at Bale Bengong, a traditional open-air gazebo.
