Half Day Authentic Kampung Walk
Discover an amazing slice of Malaysian heritage situated within Kuala Lumpur’s bustling metropolis. Kampung Baru, meaning ‘new village’, dates back to the 1880s and it offers an insight into a traditional ethnic Malay lifestyle. We will discover a low-rise settlement of traditional wooden Malay houses raised on stilts. Life in this community ticks away at the same tempo as a village in the Malaysian countryside. It is still home to families who have been resident in this location for the last five generations. They continue to preserve ancient practices amid the backdrop of the futuristic Petronas Twin Towers. Besides discovering traditional lifestyles, unique architecture and cultural practices, we will be treated to high-tea Kampung Baru style in a local home. The contrast between the modern city and this old-style location heightens the experience. This heritage among the high rises is an experience not to be missed.
Route
- Duration: 3 hours, with departure at 5 pm;
- Meeting & Ending Point: Kampung Baru LRT Station;
- Poncho will be provided if it rains;
- Group booking (10 Pax above) available upon request and subject to availability;
- Children age from 0 to 6 years old will be free of charge;
- Guests are advisable to be at the meeting point at least 15 minutes prior to starting time;
- Return transfer pick up from hotel to the meeting point could be arranged with additional charge as stated above;
- Cancellation & No-Show Policy: 100% penalty fee shall be imposed for booking cancellation made within 3 days and less prior to tour departure date. Any No-Show event will be non-refundable;
- This Trail programme is operated daily on private and sharing basis with English-speaking guide;
- Seat-in-Coach tours are operated daily with English-speaking guide;
- Seat-in-Coach tours refer to group size of minimum 2 to maximum 9 pax, unless stated otherwise below and child age is 7 to 12 years old.
