Explore Hanoi your way with our collection of self-guided walks combined with guided walks led by local experts. Our flexible 72-hour pass allows travellers to explore the cultural, social and political dynamics of the Vietnamese capital and hear the fascinating stories behind each landmark.
The walk begins at the Water Puppet Theatre. Discover hidden wonders in the narrow, winding streets of the city’s Old Quarter, including Ta Hien Street, a small lane where locals and visitors mingle over a fine selection of street food and freshly-brewed beer. Continue past historical landmarks and witness the city’s nightlife as you head towards St. Joseph’s Cathedral, a neo-gothic style structure featuring impressive stained glass windows imported from Paris.
This guided walk departs on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 5 pm.
- This guided walk is part of our Hanoi Digital Trails collection;
- The Hanoi City Walks pass includes access to all guided and self-guided Digital Trails in Hanoi for 72 consecutive hours; the ticket must be validated within 12 months from the date of purchase;
- The guided walk operates on a join-in basis without transfers; travellers are advised to make their own way to the meeting point and should aim to arrive ahead the scheduled start time;
- Children aged 0-12 years can join Digital Trails for free when accompanied by a paying adult;
- The tour is not recommended for families with strollers or young children who may have difficulty walking long distances; not recommended for people who require a wheelchair or have mobility challenges.
- The Hanoi City Walks pass offers access to all guided and self-guided Digital Trails in Hanoi during a 72-hour period;
- Guided walks are led by an English-speaking guide and includes expert storytelling about the destination’s key landmarks, culture and cuisine; guests can hop-on and hop-off the route at any time;
- Self-guided walks allow travellers to explore more and navigate around the city at their own pace using the digital roadbook and GPS route information;
- Audio and written content on the app is available in 5 languages: English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and French;
- All applicable taxes and service charges.

- Entrance fees to sights and attractions along the route;
- Mobile devices and headphones are not included; travellers are advised to bring their own;
- Tours, inclusions of any kind and other services that are not outlined in the tour description;
- Personal expenses such as meals, drinks, tips and gratuities, shopping, portage fees and optional tours unless otherwise stated;
