Crafting tribe’s better future
Celebrating the rich heritage of Northern Thailand, a social enterprise led by the Akha hill tribe is making a meaningful impact on its local community.
Founded in 2021 by Khun Nicha, a proud Akha woman, the initiative was established to break the cycle of poverty by providing sustainable employment while preserving traditional craftsmanship.
Specialising in handmade souvenirs crafted from cotton rope, the enterprise blends age-old techniques with contemporary design to create distinctive, high-quality products. More than just a workshop, it also serves as a cultural hub, where Akha women lead interactive workshops, teaching visitors the art of weaving and traditional craft-making.
Asian Trails is proud to partner with this inspiring enterprise, giving clients the opportunity to provide meaningful, ethically made welcome gifts for group travellers, MICE events and VIP guests. These customisable gifts are not only beautiful keepsakes, they also serve as a tangible connection to Thailand’s cultural roots and a direct investment in community-based development.
