Inaugural Angkor Equinox Run in Siem Reap
Cambodia will mark the upcoming September equinox with a new running event, allowing participants to experience UNESCO-listed Angkor Wat in a spectacular new way. The inaugural Angkor Equinox Run will take place in Siem Reap on 21 September 2026, coinciding with a solar phenomenon that occurs at Angkor Wat only twice a year.

The run will begin at 4.30 am from Preah Reach Damnak Stone Bridge, also known as the Royal Palace Stone Bridge. The route continues into the Angkor Archaeological Park, bringing runners to the temple in time to witness the rare moment when the rising sun aligns directly with Angkor Wat’s central tower.
