Sipping sustainably with eco-conscious cartons

Asian Trails has introduced a new eco-conscious hydration solution for travellers in Thailand as part of our ongoing commitment to promoting sustainable travel.

Effective 8th August 2025, guests beginning their journeys in Bangkok or Phuket will receive recyclable water cartons instead of traditional plastic bottles.

This move reflects the company’s broader environmental goals by reducing single-use plastic waste and minimising ecological impact. The cartons are made from 75 per cent responsibly sourced paper and a plant-based cap derived from sugar cane. Compared to conventional plastic packaging, these renewable materials significantly reduce carbon emissions during production and transportation.

Lightweight, refillable and easily recyclable, the cartons offer a practical alternative to plastic and glass containers. The compact design also allows for convenient flat-packing after use, supporting efficient recycling.

This innovation complements Asian Trails’ existing sustainability initiatives across Asia. In destinations including Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos and Vietnam, the company already promotes reusable water bottles as part of the push towards plastic-free operations.
