New cave adventure in Vang Vieng

Asian Trails staff recently returned from an inspection trip to Vang Vieng, where they explored one of the region’s newest attractions, Sang Thong Cave.

Surrounded by dramatic limestone karsts and verdant rice fields, this sacred cave, also known as Tham Sang Cave, provides a peaceful escape close to the town.

Visitors discover an extraordinary underground world featuring an elephant-shaped stalactite, as well as revered Buddha images and footprints. Spectacular natural beauty and deep-rooted local spirituality combine to create a truly memorable experience, establishing Sang Thong Cave as one of Laos’ most compelling emerging attractions.
