New riverfront retreat in Vientiane

A new chapter begins for an iconic landmark in the heart of Vientiane, the captivating capital of Laos.

Once an important part of the city’s cultural landscape, the historic property has been elegantly transformed into a stylish urban retreat overlooking Chao Anouvong Park and the mighty Mekong River.

Located just 15 minutes from Wattay International Airport, Avani+ Lanexang Vientiane Hotel began its phased opening on 1 July 2026. Blending the building’s rich heritage with the Avani+ brand’s contemporary style, the upscale hotel features 197 rooms and suites, providing an ideal base for travellers exploring the Lao capital.

Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre and an all-day dining venue serving international favourites alongside Lao-inspired cuisine. Additional dining and wellness facilities will be introduced in phases throughout 2026, including AvaniSpa and further culinary experiences.

For meetings and events, Avani+ Lanexang Vientiane offers flexible event spaces, including the Lanexang Hall, which accommodates up to 320. The hotel’s central location places guests within easy reach of Vientiane’s temples, markets, cultural attractions and the city’s scenic riverside promenade.

The opening marks Avani Hotels & Resorts’ second property in Laos, following the success of Avani+ Luang Prabang, further strengthening the brand’s presence in this emerging destination.
