A tour with true spirit, this experience takes guests behind the scenes of Cambodia’s burgeoning rum scene at a local distillery.

Located in Phnom Penh, the Samai Distillery tour provides insight into the craftsmanship behind Cambodia’s first premium rum brand. During the one-hour guided excursion, guests go behind the scenes to explore the journey from locally sourced molasses to the finished product, learning about fermentation, distillation and the ageing process.

Visitors also discover how Cambodia’s tropical climate influences rum production, including the natural evaporation process known as the ‘angel’s share’, which contributes to the spirit’s distinctive character and complexity. The activity concludes with a curated tasting of the Samai Rum collection, showcasing flavours inspired by local ingredients.
