Half Day Walkabout Historic City Tour

Explore the rich heritage buildings, ancient landmarks and colonial structures of the historical town of Malacca which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This cultural walking tour takes us through the ‘Venice of the East’ which was once the richest port in the world. We visit the Dutch Square with its pink coloured Stadthuys, Tan Beng Swee Clock Tower that features Queen Victoria’s Fountain, the charming Heeren Street, followed by Jonker Street which is famous for its Malaccan antiques, boutiques and local handicrafts. We also have the option to visit the Baba Nyonya Heritage Museum.

We continue to the ‘street of harmony,’ home to Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, Kampong Kling Mosque and Sri Vinayagar Temple, before visiting the St Paul Hill complex which is home to the Independence Memorial, Porta De Santiago, the gate to the Portuguese fortress La Formosa, built in 1511 and St Paul’s Church ruins where St Francis Xavier was once buried. The tour concludes at a Portuguese settlement.
