Safeguarding Koh Samui’s future
Asian Trails Thailand has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable tourism and environmental conservation by taking part in a community-led initiative to inspect and maintain water barriers at Khao Pom – one of Koh Samui’s highest mountains.
This annual activity, organised in collaboration with the Samui Royal Forest Department and our partners at Amari Koh Samui and OZO Samui, aims to improve water retention in the island’s jungle interior. These efforts play a vital role in supporting local farmers who often face water shortages, especially during the dry season.
Asian Trails’ tour desk representatives, Benjamas Jantipa and Nopphadet Phetsangharn, joined the volunteer effort, venturing deep into the rainforest. In addition to providing manpower, Asian Trails provided three 4×4 vehicles to access remote areas. We also made a financial contribution to assist the Samui Royal Forest Department’s ongoing conservation work.
This meaningful initiative reflects Asian Trails’ core values of giving back to local communities and protecting the natural environments in which we operate. We extend our sincere thanks to all the partners involved and remain dedicated to supporting sustainable practices throughout Thailand.
