Airline launches new Shanghai connection

Air Algérie will launch a new direct service between Algiers and Shanghai on 26 October 2026, strengthening air connectivity between North Africa and China.

The route will operate three times weekly between Houari Boumediene Airport and Shanghai Pudong International Airport, using Airbus A330-900neo aircraft.

Flights from Algiers will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, with return services from Shanghai on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The new route adds Shanghai to Air Algérie’s growing Asian network, alongside existing services to Beijing, Guangzhou and Kuala Lumpur.

This new service creates an additional gateway for North African clients to discover China, making it easier to incorporate Shanghai and other Chinese destinations into tailor-made programmes.

From Shanghai’s historic neighbourhoods and modern skyline to China’s rich cultural heritage, iconic landmarks and diverse landscapes, the new connection opens up further opportunities to explore the country.
