Marine park closed for rehabilitation
Thailand’s government has announced the temporary closure of Angthong National Marine Park from 1 November to 15 December 2025 to allow for environmental restoration.
This annual rest period is part of a conservation management programme implemented to protect Thailand’s rich biodiversity and fragile marine ecosystems.

Situated in the Gulf of Thailand, just off the coast of Koh Samui, the marine park comprises a stunning archipelago of 42 islands, renowned for their dramatic limestone cliffs, secluded lagoons, white-sand beaches and thriving coral reefs.
The closure coincides with the seasonal reopening of other major island destinations such as the Similan Islands, Surin Islands and Maya Bay, making this an excellent time to explore these spectacular alternatives.
