Direct flight to the Netherlands takes off

Vietnam Airlines has launched a new non-stop service between Hanoi and Amsterdam Schiphol.

The inaugural flight departed on 16 June 2026, making Vietnam Airlines the first Vietnamese carrier to offer a direct connection between Vietnam and the Netherlands.

By eliminating the need for transfers and layovers, the direct link significantly enhances connectivity between Europe and South-East Asia.

The service operates three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays using the airline’s Airbus A350 widebody aircraft, featuring full-flat Business Class seats, Premium Economy and Economy cabins.

The connection further strengthens Amsterdam Schiphol’s role as a key European gateway to Vietnam, providing improved access to Hanoi and popular destinations such as Ha Long Bay, Sapa and Mai Chau, along with convenient onward domestic flights to Hue, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City.

The service also expands Vietnam Airlines’ growing European network, which includes direct flights to major hubs such as Frankfurt, London and Paris.
