Dalat gateway returns after major upgrade
Lien Khuong International Airport, the primary air access to Dalat in Central Vietnam, has announced plans to resume operations on 19 August 2026 following a comprehensive infrastructure upgrade that has been underway since March this year.
The extensive modernisation project, valued at approximately VND 1 trillion (USD 38 million), includes the complete refurbishment of the airport’s runway, taxiways, safety systems and navigation equipment. These enhancements will significantly improve operational safety, reliability and the passenger experience.
With the reopening, travellers will once again enjoy convenient air access to Dalat, renowned for its pine forests, waterfalls, flower gardens, coffee plantations and year-round temperate climate.

Major domestic airlines, including Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Bamboo Airways, Vietravel Airlines, and Pacific Airlines, are preparing to restore services immediately. Initial schedules are expected to include three daily round-trip flights from Ho Chi Minh City, two daily round-trip flights from Hanoi and one daily round-trip flight from Danang.
The reopening will allow visitors to avoid lengthy overland transfers from Ho Chi Minh City or Nha Trang and it comes at an ideal time for the late summer and year-end travel seasons.
