Escape to a rural retreat in Bangkok

Step off the beaten track and discover a different side of Bangkok. Poomjai Garden is the latest addition to Asian Trails’ Sustainable Trails portfolio in Thailand. Located in Bangkok’s southwestern Bang Khun Tian area, this family-run orchard, with more than a century of history, has been transformed into a cultural space that preserves traditional ways of life, local craftsmanship and Thai culinary heritage.

Set alongside the city’s canals, the garden offers a variety of experiences, from guided garden tours and traditional Thai dessert workshops to tie-dye, natural crafts and community-based cultural activities. Visitors can also gain insights into local cuisine, textiles and agriculture.

The Thailand MICE Venue Standard (TMVS)-certified venue, which meets the kingdom’s recognised standards for MICE facilities and services, also accommodates CSR and team-building programmes, green retreats and MICE events.

The garden can be combined with a boat journey through the surrounding canals, with opportunities to see residential communities and temples along the way. It is also home to a popular café, where guests can enjoy Thai flavours in a scenic, open-air setting.
