Building team bonds on an idyllic island

Asian Trails’ staff had the opportunity to explore one of Cambodia’s leading island destinations as part of a recent team-building excursion.

Colleagues from our Siem Reap and Phnom Penh offices travelled south for three days of shared experiences amid the country’s coastal landscapes.

The group enjoyed a lunch of local specialities in Ream, a coastal area known for its fishing communities and proximity to Ream National Park, before continuing to Sihanoukville. From there, speedboats transported the group to JATI Resort Koh Russey, a secluded resort located just 4 km from the mainland.

Part of the Koh Rong archipelago, Koh Russey, also known as Bamboo Island, offers a secluded escape surrounded by tropical forest and sandy beaches. The island combines relaxation with active pursuits, including nature walks, cycling, kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkelling and other watersports.

The team-building programme featured a series of challenges, followed by a beachside dinner, music and dancing under the stars. The visit also gave staff the opportunity to experience Koh Russey first-hand, building valuable destination knowledge that they can share with clients.
