New digital entry pass replaces passport stamps
Cambodia has officially introduced its new v-Pass system, replacing traditional passport stamps and QR code slips for all foreign visitors.
Effective 1 July 2025, the move is part of a sweeping digital upgrade to the country’s immigration process, following a trial that began in January 2024.
After presenting their passport to an immigration officer, a v-Pass is automatically generated and sent to the traveller by email. Upon departure, the traveller again presents their passport, with exit details logged electronically and no physical stamp issued.
Officials advise keeping the v-Pass accessible throughout a stay – either on a mobile device or in printed form in case it is needed for official verification.
The modification is part of a broader move to modernise border control and support the country’s digital economy strategy of paperless, tech-enabled government services.
In addition to an email, the v-Pass can be accessed via the Cambodia e-Arrival official website: https://arrival.gov.kh and through the Cambodia e-Arrival mobile application on GooglePlay and the AppStore.
