Earlier flight offers more of Vientiane

From 1 December 2026, Thai Airways International will increase its Bangkok–Vientiane service to three daily flights with the introduction of a new morning departure.

The new 8 am departure from Bangkok, arriving in Vientiane at approximately 9.10 am, gives tour planners greater flexibility and allows guests more time to explore the Lao capital on their first day.

Depending on arrival time and interests, possible visits include Wat Sisaket, a historic temple with thousands of Buddha images; Patuxai, an iconic monument inspired by the Arc de Triomphe in Paris; and Pha That Luang, a golden stupa regarded as the country’s most important national monument. Another option is a stroll along the Mekong riverfront to get a relaxed introduction to local life.

All services will be operated by Airbus A320 aircraft. The new 8 am departure from Bangkok complements the existing daily flights at 11.55 am and 6.30 pm. Return flights from Vientiane depart at 10.15 am, 1.30 pm and 8.30 pm.

The enhanced schedule makes Laos easier to incorporate into regional itineraries, whether for a short city break in Vientiane or a longer journey exploring the country’s cultural heritage and natural landscapes.
